Back off Satan!!

Thoughts from the son about this letter post.

It is one of the grand paradoxes of the believer’s faith. How can we say that our omnipotent loving Father loves us to His core all the while it seems all “hell” is breaking loose around us? It’s the question that has been struggled with for millennia. His love and the co-existence of the world’s “crud” seem to be oxymoronic to the outsider and to even us, His children, many times.

For me the reconciliation of these two polar opposites, Father’s love and the world’s crud, has come through beginning to understand His kingdom and where it is to be found here in the enemy’s territory. When I am able to implant the Truth of where His kingdom is, I can finally exhale and say, “Oh,…….I get it now.” This realization doesn’t remove the crud, these apparent contradictions of His love, it only allows me to seek His strength and infusion of power to “get through it.” And if I can learn to stay there, the result is an inexplainable peace, His peace. And when the enemy wants to taunt me with his lies about Father’s love I can yell, scream, whatever, at him and say “Back off Satan!! Get the _______ outta here!”

Back off Satan!!

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Romans 8:35

Good morning Dad,

It seems Billy, in the last few days of readings, is trying to give us a dose of reality. Now and then, Christ followers may get the idea that because their life and faith are founded in “The One True Omnipotent God,” that we should be able to escape all the crud that this world throws out. And we both know there is a lot of crud making the rounds these days.

Walk this earth and you are going to get crud on you. This is a filthy place, full of lies and deception. Most are totally unaware of the battle that rages 24/7 in the unseen against us. “For the battle we wage is not against flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world...” Ephesians 6:12. There’s a war going on out there folks and we ‘is’ in the middle of it!

"For the battle we wage is not against flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world...." Ephesians 6:12

Hate to break the bad news as to what it’s like to live behind enemy lines but listen to Paul speak about it in Romans 8:35. “Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble and calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?” NLT. This verse reminds us that this world is not the domain Father God is seeking to establish His kingdom in. His kingdom is only to be found in our hearts. That’s why Paul is so adamant about the fact that nothing can separate us from Father’s love. Satan may have access to our physical domain but he can’t touch our hearts and souls. Paul says in verse 39: “No power in the sky above or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” NLT

"No power in the sky or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God...." Romans 8:39

Nope Satan, back off, you can’t touch me! You will never be able to steal from me the love, joy and peace that I have through my salvation in and relationship with Jesus.

As this year gets rolling, let’s remember this: No matter what circumstance we find ourselves in Pops, good or bad, nothing can separate us from the rest, comfort and love we find in Christ.

Love you!
